The series of maps at 1:50 000 (1cm = 500m) consists of 1,106 sheets, each containing the equivalent of four 1:25 000 cards identified on the sheets in Roman numerals.
The content includes the themes traditionally covered by the topographic coverage:
- Territorial demarcations: representation of boundaries and administrative milestones.
- Special protection areas or areas: delimitation of protected areas.
- Altimetric data: contour lines at equidistance of 20 m
- Hydrography: rivers, lakes, lagoons, transitional or coastal waters, dams
- Representation of land use, coverage and utilization.
- Definition of the geographical areas of population settlements.
- Buildings and structures
- Transport networks and infrastructures: motorways, ordinary roads, railways, kilometric points, runways, ports, landing zones, etc.
- Infrastructure and services: energy infrastructure as well as communication elements (mobile telephony antennas), etc.
- Toponymy with the names of official and geographical places, place names, places, etc.
- Geodetic reference system: includes geodetic leveling and national networks.
